History

Our history extends back to 1983, when the insurance company Skandia started up an operation that invested in unlisted growth companies. The company became independent in 1998, when it changed its name to Priveq. For more than three decades, Priveq has successfully invested in over 100 Swedish companies and brought 24 of them to the stock market. The consistent focus has been on helping Swedish growth companies to keep developing using capital and know-how.

Historically, the main investors in Priveq’s funds have been long-term Swedish pension fund managers. International investors also gained their first opportunity to invest in Priveq’s funds in 2011, when the fourth fund was created.

Operations have been successful over the years, as is evident in a comparison of returns with other European private equity firms, where Priveq ranks highly in the top quartile.
